Domaine Albert Morot

金丘的南半部稱之為伯恩丘(Côte de Beaune)，葡萄園往切過金丘的谷地與平原區延伸，比起北半部的夜丘(Côtes de Nuits)來得更加廣闊，面積也將近是夜丘的一倍。由於地層的巨大變動，伯恩丘的葡萄酒風格也跟著變化多端。除了著名的紅酒產區如特級園Corton、名村Volnay、Pommard之外，伯恩丘被公認為是世界最佳的夏多內產區，有著名聞遐邇的Corton-Charlemagne、Montrachet、Meursault等等。由於葡萄園面積較大，加上多家重要的酒商聚集於此，除了和夜丘一樣生產著價昂量少的珍稀佳釀外，同時也可以發掘到價廉物美的多樣性酒款。

伯恩丘(Côte de Beaune)的命名來自於區域內的最大城伯恩市(Beaune)，曾經是十四世紀布根地大公國首都的伯恩市，當今的地位仿若是布根地葡萄酒的首府。城內有著相當多的知名酒商，諸如Bouchard Pere & Fils、Chanson Pere & Fils、Joseph Drouhin、Louis Jadot、Louis Latour等等都設立於此，或許這些大名氣的酒商搶走了大多數的光環，讓人忽略了同時在此還是藏著一些小酒莊，在這些獨立的小酒莊中，最為重要的首推Domaine Albert Morot。Domaine Albert Morot最初在1820是以酒商的名義設立，接著在1890年買入了數公頃的葡萄園之後，便同時經營酒商與酒莊的生意，一直到1980年代末期，決定放棄了酒商生意，專職酒莊的照顧。那時的莊主為Albert Morot的兩個外孫兒女Guy Choppin和Françoise Choppin，由於不久之後Guy因病去世，酒莊的工作全部由外孫女Françoise一肩扛起。終生未婚的Françoise，有著堅毅性格，勤奮認真，堅持傳統的哲理，釀造出一款款最具古典風格的布根地葡萄酒。Francoise一直主掌酒莊到1999年的採收完畢，才將重責大任傳承給侄子Geoffroy Choppin de Janvry。

Domaine Albert Morot共擁有約7.91公頃的葡萄園，其中包括Greves、Aigrot、Bressandes、Cent Vignes、Marconnets、Teurons和Toussaints等七片精彩的Beaune一級園和一片位於Savigny-les-Beaune的一級獨占園(monopole)：La Bataillere aux Vergelesses。葡萄的平均樹齡高達五十年以上，而且在Françoise Choppin的長期認真的照料之下，葡萄健康且生氣勃勃。在姑媽Françoise Choppin一生堅毅認真的照料與侄子Geoffroy Choppin de Janvry接手之後戰戰兢兢的努力之下，Domaine Albert Morot隨著世代的更迭，品質不斷往上提升，不但獲得死忠客戶的滿意讚賞，而且也不斷得到專業酒評優異的評價。

Mild reduction cannot completely dampen the complex nose that evidences an appealing spice component before merging smoothly into rich, supple and delicious middle weight flavors that culminate in an austere and linear finish. This is presently borderline strict in character yet there is ample underlying material which should permit this to mature gracefully though I doubt that it will ever be a seductively textured effort.

An expressive and high-toned nose offers up notes of red currant and wild raspberry trimmed in soft earth nuances that also characterize the nicely rich and round medium-bodied flavors that display fine depth and length. I like the palpable sense of underlying tension and minerality and while there is the same hint of youthful asperity here as elsewhere in the range in 2008, this should mature nicely over the medium-term.
