Champagne José Michel

位於Moussy村的Champagne José Michel，家族從1847年開始從事葡萄種植與釀造，僅僅過了數十年，當時的莊主Paul Michel就決定開始獨立裝瓶，成為最早的少數獨立香檳酒莊之一。歷經兩個世代的努力，現任莊主José Michel帶領著三個兒子，將這個百年的家族酒莊經營的有聲有色，所生產的幾款特色香檳，一直以來都贏得眾多媒體和各大專業競賽的高度讚賞，物超所值的表現，更是各地香檳行家的私房必藏聖品。另外，在很早期Champagne José Michel就獲邀加入知名的獨立香檳聯盟-Club Tresors de Champagne，和其它27家志同道合的酒莊夥伴，為推廣獨立香檳而盡心盡力。

Champagne José Michel目前共擁有約10公頃的葡萄園，年產量約90,000瓶。葡萄園主要分布在Moussy、Brugny、Saint-Agnan、Brasles等村子，種植比例約40%為 Chardonnay、20% 為Pinot Noir和 40% 為Pinot Meunier。當然，提到Champagne José Michel就不得不提到Pinot Meunier.，在早期大部分的果農為了賣給葡萄給酒商拿到好價錢，大多一窩蜂種植經濟價值較高的Chardonnay和Pinot Noir，但，重視忠於風土(terroir)原味的Champagne José Michel，卻從開始就完全依照每個地塊的特性來決定種植最適切的品種，認真的結果是讓許多人對Pinot Meunier所呈現的超高品質而刮目相看，純淨、細膩、豐富且充滿靈性，是許多行家心目中Pinot Meunier.的頂尖生產酒莊之一。

70% Pinot Meunier + 30% Chardonnay; 9 g/l dosage

Light yellow-gold. Fresh tangerine, pear and sweet butter on the fragrant nose. Smooth and weighty in the mouth, offering pliant orchard fruit and melon flavors and a bracing kick of bitter citrus zest. A minerally element adds lift and cut to the penetrating finish, which leaves a suave floral note behind.

Bright yellow. Intense, mineral-laced aromas of redcurrant, blood orange, ginger and smoke, with a hint of white pepper in the background. Dry and nervy, displaying very good clarity to its red berry and citrus fruit flavors. I'd have thought the dosage here was quite a bit lower.
