談到Barolo這個被無數酒迷歌頌的葡萄酒聖地，沒有任何一個名字可以比”Conterno”來得響亮，無論是本家的Giacomo Conterno，或是開枝散葉後由弟弟Aldo Conterno所創立的同名酒莊，都是堅持傳統的釀酒工藝，讓Barolo不斷保持義大利最頂尖佳釀的地位。

當Aldo Conterno成立酒莊之初，他預料像Barolo這麼知名的葡萄酒，市場未來的需求一定會越來越大，高品質的葡萄就會越來越難買到，所以他一開始就積極獵地，火力集中購買家鄉所在Monforte d’Alba的Bussia村內的優質葡萄園，在此Aldo Conterno擁有三塊相當優異的單一葡萄園Romirasco、Cicala和Colonnello。在釀酒方面，家學淵源的Aldo當然相當堅持傳統的方式，不過或許歷經異國生活，Aldo在常年捍衛傳統的的同時，倒是比別人來得胸襟開拓地看待所謂”傳統”，舉個比較明顯的例子，他略為縮短發酵浸皮的時間與淋皮的次數，避免過度的萃取，讓酒質稍顯親切宜人，卻同時保留了嚴肅紮實的偉大Barolo特色。

如同在釀酒思維上融和傳統與創新，在生產酒款上也是如此，他有傳奇酒款-“Granbussia”，是完全依照Barolo最傳統方式，以來自不同葡萄園最佳老藤Nebbiolo混釀而成；不過，同時他也用創新的思維，將Romirasco、Cicala和Colonnello分開釀造，生產出屬於新派的單一園精選佳釀，在這三個大名鼎鼎的單一園中，Romirasco絕對是行家心目的首選，這片由Aldo Conterno單獨擁有葡萄園，位於Bussia村海拔約400公尺的Soprano坡地上，向陽與排水性絕佳，是種植Nebbiolo的罕見寶地，細心照料超過50年以上的老藤，是成就酒莊名氣的最重要素材之來源。(Granbussia通常70%葡萄來自Romirasco)
